The LDS02 is a LoRaWAN door/window sensor that detects open/close events and then sends its status it to a LoRaWAN network. The LDS02 is small in size (40 x 15 x 15mm) and is powered by a two standard AAA Alkaline batteries. In ideal LoRaWAN network coverage conditions, the LDS02 transmits up to 70,000 data records to the server for the life of the battery. Poor LoRaWAN network coverage will allow for the transmission of roughly 16,000 data records. The LDS02 product design allows for a battery life between 2 and 10 years. Once finally flat, the AAA batteries are straight forward to change.

The LDS02 will periodically upload data records at a configurable interval (usually every 24 hours) to confirm its connection and status. A data record is also sent as soon as an open or close event is detected. Each record contains the battery voltage, number of open and close events with the duration of the most recent open event. The LDS02 has a communication interface accessible via a USB-TTL converter (purchased separately) for configuration and diagnostics. The LDS02 is easy to mount and comes with all necessary instillation items.
The LDS02 also has an in-built alarm function that will flag an alarm if the door or window has been left open for a certain time, that can be set by the user. This ensures that you won't get a false alarm if someone quicky opens and closes a door.
When used with Telemetry2U, you can be notified by E-Mail, SMS or a voice call whenever the door or window changes state. You will also be notified if it loses contact with the server due to flat batteries or if the server is down, this ensures you will have 24/7 monitoring that you can rely on.
Once you have a wireless LoRaWAN network on Telemetry2U covering your property, you’ll have a host of security sensors to choose from that can cover all kinds of situations. Motion sensors, PIR’s, panic buttons, smoke and fire detectors to name a few. You can read more on LoRaWAN based home and business security here.
